The DILYS AWARD Nominees Announced by ( 30 January 2012 / ) - The Dilys Award has been given annually since 1992 by IMBA to the mystery titles of the year which the member booksellers have most enjoyed selling. The Dilys Award is named in honor of Dilys Winn, the founder of the first specialty bookseller of mystery books in the United States. This year's nominees are:

The winner will be announced March 31 at MINING FOR MURDER, the 2012 Left Coast Crime Convention in Sacramento

Reginald Charles Hill (3 April 1936 12 January 2012) by ( 17 January 2012 / ) - From Guardian Obituary: The writer Reginald Hill, who created the Yorkshire detective duo Andrew Dalziel and Peter Pascoe, has died aged 75.

Hill charted the ups and downs of his two contrasting sleuths in more than 20 novels published over four decades after his debut, A Clubbable Woman (1970) alongside a substantial body of other crime fiction and thrillers. He won the Crime Writers Association's Golden Dagger in 1990 for Bones and Silence, and the Diamond Dagger for the series as a whole in 1995. (Source: )
