Stephanie Plum has had it with being a bounty hunter. Since there's got to be a better, less dangerous way to earn a living, she quits. Now the only problem is she has to find a job. But hey, she's been here before. Things don't often go the way Stephanie expects and as the damage to job sites, bombs in cars, and other weirdness mounts, Stephanie decides maybe she'd better get to the bottom of these incidents. Just who left her the note before the first incident? And besides, Lula seems to need Stephanie with her to make any busts so as long as she's still working for Vinnie, Stephanie might as well make it official and get paid for it.
Joe Morelli and Ranger make life even more complicated since Stephanie can't seem to commit to just one. But as usual when things go pear-shaped they go in a big way. Stephanie's mother agrees to not tipple if Stephanie gives up sugar. Stephanie finds life without sugar leaves her with an itch that Joe Morelli can scratch until he's not getting any sleep and is begging her to visit Ranger -- and he's only half joking.
Once again, you're in for a fun adventure with enough twists, turns, weirdness, and hilarity to keep you entertained from page one till you close the book on the last page of the last chapter and there's nothing to do but tap your foot and wait for Twelve Sharp.
Good fun, recommended.
