Charlotte is very busy working and recuperating. But when she gets invited out to Quovadicon to help tidy up a desk, she decides to go. After being run off the road on the way to Quovadicon, she meets the odd collection of employees including: the airhead receptionist; an office shark out to replace the current office manager; and the ditzy IT staffer, who is also the owner's son and who also seems to be in love with Barbara. Barbara is the owner of the messy desk. It was also Barbara who ran Charlotte off the road.

Charlotte can't resist a messy desk or a challenge. She wants to find Barbara. It doesn’t matter that no one wants her to look for Barbara, and as soon as Barbara goes missing, Charlotte is told to stay away from Quovadicon completely--the messy desk is not Charlotte’s problem any longer. But Charlotte can’t let it go and starts poking around to see what she can find. Turns out she can find out a lot.

This is a fun book. Watching order rise from chaos is always a good time. Anyone looking for light reading this summer, pleasant way to spend a lazy afternoon. I have not read the previous books by Ms. Maffini, but I will be fixing that oversight in the very near future.
