Bailey Ruth is unsure of her reception at the Heavenly Department of Good Intentions this time. After all, last time she had an adven...er...mission, she did not follow the Precepts very well. But she's been studying them and is ready to try again. Wiggins, the head of the Department of Good Intentions, is leery of sending Bailey Ruth back to Earth once again, but the perfect mission for Bailey Ruth is right there, just waiting to be assigned. So, Wiggins sends her back to Adelaide to help a little boy.
It's Christmas time, Bailey Ruth's favorite time of the year. She arrived in Adelaide just in time to see Keith dropped off on the doorstep of a wealthy Adelaide family. Keith is about five years old. The head of the family is ailing, not expected to live long. The arrival of Keith, the grandson she did not know she had, brings great joy and happiness to her. But his arrival is making some of the family very unhappy because Susan, his grandmother, is planning to change her will. Before she can do so, she is murdered. Bailey Ruth must protect Keith, and help solve the Susanís murder in order to complete her adven...er...mission.
This was a really good book. It was hard to put down once I started. I loved the characters, the setting, and the time of year. The descriptions of Christmas activities in Adelaide sounded like so much fun, I wanted to go there. This series is developing quite nicely, and I am eagerly looking forward to Bailey Ruth's next adven...er...mission.
