Skye Dennison has a very busy life already, but when her cousin asks her to be maid of honor, Skye accepts to please her grandmother. How much work can it be? Buy an ugly dress, throw a wedding shower, and walk down the aisle? Well, it was easy until the obnoxious wedding planner is murdered.
Skye's family guilts her into taking over as the wedding planner, it becomes a lot of works, especially since her sweet little cousin could give the worst Bridezilla a run for the money. On the bright side, since Sky is a consultant for the police department, working on the wedding should help the investigation.
Added investigation and the wedding planning, Skye has promised her beau, Policy Chief Wally Boyd, a response to his marriage proposal. Complicating that promise is former beau, Simon, who is determined to win Skye back.
Her life isn't busy at all. The story begins simply enough with the announcement of the wedding, and the invite to Skye to be the maid of honor. When it's time for the wedding, and all the characters are introduced, all the potential suspects I should say, the story gets good.
Skye's cousin left Scumble River after high school, moving to California. She is returning now, with her very wealthy fiancÚ, to be married at home. Coming to the wedding are various friends and family from her life in California. Some of the characters are a surprise, and some of them are predictable, but they're all a lot of fun.
This book was very hard to put down. I enjoyed it tremendously, and highly recommend it.
