It takes her on an odyssey to France to discover her origins.
Maggie's has lived a lie all her life without knowing it. Her parents had harbored secrets about her and themselves she had never imagined. Now her birth mother lay in the L.A. Morgue.
Asked by her newly found relatives to return her mother's ashes to France, she is surprised to discover how familiar they are with her life and her successes. Their warm reception disarms her, but she remains determined to unravel the mystery of her mother's death. She reminds herself that the killer may be a relative, especially when she learns her inheritance could be substantial. Possible motives abound.
Now, someone wants Maggie dead.
Hornsby provides plenty of excitement and a plethora of possible murderers as Maggie unravels family secrets. The few inconsistencies will not trouble most readers.
