Josie's latest assignment is investigating wedding flowers and wedding cakes. This works well because Josie is planning her own perfect wedding. Her fiancé’s outrageous mother, Lenore, might have other plans, but Josie is determined to have her wedding her way.
The first day Lenore is in town, Josie and Lenore go to Ted's office, where his new veterinary medicine television show is being filmed. They plan to watch the filming then take Ted to lunch. Things get a little bit complicated when another bride, Molly, shows up. Molly, in full bridal gear, goes nuts at the idea that Ted is engaged to someone else and puts a scalpel to Ted's throat. Ted's mother, Lenore, pulls out her own little handgun. Chaos ensues. Later things go even further off track when Molly is shot with Lenore's handgun.
Now Josie has to plan her perfect wedding while fending of her future mother-in-law's suggestions and find Molly's killer so that Lenore is not doing time for murder instead of attending her son's wedding.
This book starts at a run and does not slow down. Something is always happening. And it's always interesting. The little side stories running throughout the book add to the fun. It is well-written and entertaining. It was so good, I wanted to read it all in one sitting.
