Attorney Brad Miller and private investigator Dana Cutler have had their share of interesting times. Now they just want things to settle down and get normal. Not going to happen though as the past does not want to let either of them go.

Convicted serial killer Clarence Little has managed to escape from death row and is now leaving Brad threatening messages. A dead body is found in a senator's Georgetown home and the MO matches Little. To make matters worse, the senator is missing.

While Dana digs into the senator's shady past, a terrorist cell is planning on blowing up a professional football stadium. As Brad and Dana rush to try to put as many clues together as possible all of the disparate events begin to come together. With time against them and a serial killer stalking them they have little time to breath.

Margolin has done it again. This is the third book in his Executive Trilogy and it's possibly the best of the three. Once again he's managed to blend politics, murder, and suspense into a page turning thriller with plenty of mystery. The writing is solid and the plot is twisted enough to be real. The book is very well written, captivating in it's characterization and with plenty of unexpected turns.

I enjoyed this book. I was a bit suspicious at first, wondering how Margolin was going to manage to get his two main characters back into action after so adeptly resolving all of their conflicts in the previous novel. But my worries vanished pretty quickly and soon I found myself racing along, turning pages and wondering how everything was going to turn out.

This is a fun book, a fun series, and highly recommended. If you like Washington thrillers then this one is for you.
