Finally, finally, finally, Abby and Dutch are getting married. The wedding is just a few days away. And if they can just figure out why young women are strapping on bombs and blowing themselves, and innocent bystanders, up, they can get married in peace.
The wedding is just days away. Abby is not working on the bombing case. She started to work on it, but working on the first bombing made her physically ill, so everyone agreed to keep her off the case. However, with the wedding fast approaching, Abby gets a horrible feeling that Dutch is in terrible danger, and the only way to keep him safe, is to stay with him. Because Dutch is working on the bombing, that means Abby, with Candice along, will have to work on the bombing case.
The book's back and forth storytelling, from what's happening the day of the wedding to the events leading up to the day, is well done. And I really like the fact that Ms. Laurie has brought M.J. and Gilly into this book. They fit in this one very nicely. The story of the bombings, the who and why, is well told, and makes you think a little.
I've read all of the Abby Cooper series and the M.J. Holliday series. This book is a delightful melding of the characters. It is, maybe, the best she's written. From the first page to the last, it held my interest. I didn't want to put it down and do anything else. I just wanted to read this book. So be careful. Make sure when you start it, and you should start it, that you have time to finish it.
