Andi Boggs has begun to settle in living with her Aunt and older sister. She's best friends with Colin Carter who lives next door and also attended Science Camp with her during the summer. (see Andi Under Pressure).
Colin's grandmother's sister, Claudette, has dropped in for a visit. She's a birder and travels all over the world. There's been a reported sighting of a Kirkland's warbler in the area. Andi and Colin are surprised when their science teacher assigns them to pick a partner and plan their viewing and see which team can spot the largest number of birds with extra points for a Kirland's warbler. Adult help is allowed. Andi and Colin figure they can get the highest count with the help of Claudette until they end up with Ava Gomez in their group.
The area where they will be visiting is near a graveyard that is supposed to be haunted. Andi and Colin set out to learn more about the history of the area and the family that is buried in the grave. Imagine their surprise when most of the birders that they're camping with believe in the story.
Before long there are sighting of the ghost. Frightened students. Mysterious holes near the graves. Andi and Colin find themselves investigating another mystery. Since they don't believe in ghosts, there has to be another explanation.
There's tension, betrayal, plenty of clues, family upsets, and enough twists and turns to keep the pages turning. Andi and Colin are great characters and even Ava grows on you in time.
